Rules for Submitting a Quiliting Square

  1. The fabric must be quilting fabric (no silks, satin, flannel, fuzzy, or stretchy material). If you are unsure, go to your fabric store and have them point you to the quilting fabrics. They are usually 100% cotton or a cotton blend. (Click here for some examples.)
  2. Only black, reds, and whites will be accepted--absolutely NO other colors (even if it's only a tiny bit in one corner!) Your square can be just solid red, black, or white, or some combination of those colors. Please avoid holiday themes (no black spider webs or red poinsettas!) Solid color squares work great to tie the patterned ones together.
  3. Do not add writing, artwork, beads, buttons, etc. to the square. Don't sign it-- we'll let the simple beauty of the colors speak our message.
  4. If your square is not exactly 4 inches x 4 inches it will be discarded. With 1,000 of fans we won't have time trimming squares to make them fit against the others. 
  5. Any quilt sqaure submitted that does not confrom to these rules will be discarded and not included in the quilt.

Mailing Information

  1. All squares must be postmarked by September 20, 2008, so that the quilt may be pieced together as soon as possible.
  2. One square per fan please. If you wish to ship several squares from different fans together that is acceptable.

  1. Be sure to include your name (real or screenname) for the card that will be sent with the quilt so that Stephenie will know who contributed.
